Clive Badman took on a role as professor of practice in the Business Engagement Group at the University of Strathclyde in October 2013. Concurrent to this role he was VP Pre-Competitive Activities, R&D at GSK where he worked for 40 years before retiring in July 2018. His expertise is in pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chains, advanced manufacturing technologies, and in the creation of impactful collaborations. He leads the sustainable production subgroup of ILG in Scotland.
Badman was Industrial Chair for Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation (CMAC), an award winning academic/industry collaboration, from 2011 through 2018 and he led the Remedies project from 2014 through 2018, representing two institutions and 21 industrial companies. He was central to the formation of the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MMIC) which opened in 2018 and he currently sits on the supervisory board.
Badman was awarded an OBE in 2012 for services to the Pharmaceutical industry and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) in 2021.
